Wonder how many legit reviews there are on this item...!? Not at all what it advertises. I’ve had my celestron slt 130 for about 10 years now and know it in and out, so this is not a miscue. This particular Barlow does not even “magnify” the view you obtain with the standard 25mm lense. It actually distorts it. It increases the size within the lense by a fraction but no matter how much you try to focus the lense it’s still a blur. I actually maintained a clearer , albeit smaller, image with the 25mm and 9mm that was originally given with the scope! All this 2x Barlow lense accomplished was giving me more of a refraction from Jupiter’s moons while keeping Jupiter itself a blur. Spend more money elsewhere , you’ll be grateful.

I don't know why I did not see it. The first two pictures from amazon and my particular order the tube between the cell and the main cell is smooth; this is how it appears in the second and third pictures which are from HighpointScientific and Celestron, in that order. Finally is what I received from the seller. No long smooth tube but a short piece that indented tube which looks like part of a meade barlow. The ones from reputable dealers the second and third in the middle also have a silver coated lens cell. Mine and the amazon picture have a black lens cell.
Amazon check these switching parts and affirm they are not bogus Celestron parts.

This Celestron Omni 2X Barlow Lens is amazing for the money! Crystal clear optics and instantly doubles the power of any telescope eyepiece.
20mm eyepiece becomes a 10mm eyepiece (i.e. if using a 1000mm aperture telescope, the 20mm eyepiece gives 50X power. Use the Celestron Omni 2X Barlow Lens, and it translates your eyepiece to a 10mm and also 100X power!).
The "hidden bonus" that I mentioned in the title? Look closely at the image of the Celestron Omni... See the bottom of it? That's where the main Barlow Lens is. You can unscrew it, remove it, and screw it into the bottom of ANY 1.25" telescope eyepiece! So, not only do you have a main 2X Barlow Lens, but you get the additional " hidden bonus" of a 1.5X booster lens as well!
Plain: 20mm eyepiece w/ 1000mm aperture scope: 50X power.
2X Barlow: 20mm (now 10mm) w/ 1000mm aperture scope: 100X power.
1.5X lens from Barlow: 20mm (now 13.3mm) w/ 1000mm aperture scope: 75.18X power.

Exactly what I was hoping for! 2x Barlow arrived in perfect condition, was easy to “install,” and dramatically enhanced the quality of my entire experience. I purchased this in a bundle with the Celestron Zoom Eyepiece, and I would recommend the combination to any “amateur astronomer” and/or curious adult with or without an even more curious child. The 2x Barlow and Celestron Zoom Eyepiece makes for a much more efficient experience that dramatically improved the odds of my zeroing-in on some of the more amazing things in our sky that tend to cause more than one spontaneous “wow.” I did my research enough to know this was a quality item at a very good price. I’m not saying there aren’t better options out there for certain people, but this has met and exceeded all of my expectations. It turns out that staring at the night sky with my son is one of the great gifts I’ve been able to harness out of the crazy quarantined would of today. I am very very happy with this purchase!

So I just recently bought my son a Celestron 22150 Omni XLT AZ 102mm telescope for his 7th birthday, not knowing anything about astronomy this was offered as something customers also bought with their purchase, so I figured what the hell, and bought it. When I 1st tried to use it I was a little confused and I had to look up how to use a Barlow lens. Wow, what a difference this little piece of equipment makes, they are pretty versatile and depending on where you put it you can get 1.5x mag (unscrew the lens and screw to the eyepiece), 2x, or supposedly even 3x (with the 2x if you put it into the telescope 1st and then attach the diagonal mirror, I'm trying this tonight!). And after watching some videos I super happy that I bought this, Barlow lenses are a must.
