When asked to rate this product, I turned to my daughter who is 12 and who plays the cello. She is who I bought this for. I asked her to rate this product based on her experience with it. This is her rating and her reasoning: The case was neat. Semi easy to use. The price was decent for the product as well. The only thing I didn't particularly like about this case the rosin is in is the fact that when I go to put the rosin on my bow, I normally run my bow across the rosin bar (the bar I had) and it would slide smoothly across. This one is round and when the case is open and you slide the bow across the rosin, the bow often times will slip off the round rosin and the strings on the bow will get stuck to the prongs inside the casing. Other than that, it's a good product.

The rosin packaging is ideal. It is light and compact to fit in the violin case.
The dark rosin provides the bow hair a strong grip on the string that produces a clear rich tone.

Nice design, dark but not super dark

The clamshell case for these is brilliant! All rosin should be packaged like this, it lasts a lot longer with a one-handed protective case. The rosin itself is a dark Amber but not super dark. Not as melty and sticky as the really dark rosins out there. It makes for smooth playing with a quick but not crunchy grip. Good for any weather other than super hot and humid days. I’m not sure about their claims that it doesn’t leave residue or dust behind on your instrument. I definitely still need to clean my strings. Maybe it’s slightly less dusty but not in any notable or important way, I don’t think. I’m using this rosin on plain gut strings and the result is very responsive playing.
