Grip is comfortable but the weight balance is strange.

This pen is the one of the best! The grip is very soft and squishy, and thicker than my uni Kuru Toga (Automatic). Plus, it is not the kind of grip that would get stained or faded from regular use (unless you purposely tried).
From the picture alone I thought the color would somehow be less vibrant, but I was very impressed with the aesthetic look of it. The blue and the silver, along with the white strip on the gel grip and the blue tip on the hook combine to form a very pleasing pencil.
One of the things I was a bit reluctant about was that the natural shaking mechanism would engage whenever I moved or walked, wasting the lead. However, there are two functions on the clicker at the end.
When the clicker is normal, as in it is fully raised, then the shaker function works and you shake the pencil for the lead to come out. When you press the clicker it stays down and no lead comes out no matter how much you shake it. In fact, if you try to write with it in this mode the lead goes back in, not comes out.
The eraser is inside the clicker cap and it is kind of small I might use it up after a few weeks or so. But you can get refills, the size is the "Uni Mechanical Pencil Eraser Refill S". The packet Amazon sells comes with 5 of them at 3.99 right now (might change)
This pencil is pretty thick so if you have a death grip it might cause cramps in your fingers. Maybe get the thinner version, "slim" version that is also a shaker.
The pencil is very solid. The tip comes off and the silver body twists off to reveal the weighted spring inside that causes the shaking motion, it all should be very easy to fix.
I got mine super fast. It came in 2 days, standard shipping, no Prime.

Not So Nice

How do I less-than-love thee?
Let me count the ways --
1] The tiny tapered metal cap on the eraser is pert near impossible to grasp & remove ... &
2] The teensy little eraser under the cap is good for maybe 17 erasures ... &
3] 1/2 of the leads that you try to guide into the teensy little hole are gonna miss the teensy hole & go on the floor ... &
4] I could get only 3 leads to go down that tiny channel, so you had better carry extra leads in their little plastic box with you ... &
5] Good luck on trying to figger out how to unscrew the body parts to access the works inside ... &
6] The nice soft green grippy part that you use when writing, & for traction to figger out #5 above gets all distorted & even torn when you try to access the works inside the pencil ... &
7] In lieu of instructions in English there in a sticker, on the upper part of the back of the barrel, with 5 [I think] bits of instruction for [I think] Japanese readers; on 1 of them I see the word "ON" & on another I see the word "OFF", & on a third I see the word "JAPAN".
One nice & even functional feature is the heavy metal spring inside the barrel that slides up & down with a satisfying little thunking action when you tip the pencil off of the horizontal; it goes thunking nicely in both directions! This might be conducive to the thought process one undergoes when choosing ones words. It took me a while to discover that this is how you advance or retract the lead!

Best Mechanical Pencil I've Ever Tried.

Hands down the greatest mechanical pencil that I have ever used (and I have used a great deal of them). This is a very comfortable pencil to hold and I tend to grip very hard on my pencils (and normally get callouses/indentations in my skin as well as my fingers start aching). I can use this pencil for hours and not feel tired and I draw a lot. After finding this brand I haven't used anything else since and now own 3 of these in different colors (and will probably get more in the future) as well as the skinnier version that this brand makes.
There is a locking mechanism for the pencil so that the shaker doesn't randomly shake lead out while it is stored away.
One little con is that sometimes little dusts and things get stuck at the grip but it comes off easily and isn't much of an issue for me.
Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for an amazing and comfortable mechanical pencil. It is worth the money! But I would suggest maybe waiting because I find that the pricing on this fluctuates and might get cheaper. And there are also other listings that might be cheaper (if you don't mind a certain color).

If you are a fan of thicker writing tools like myself, you will love this pencil. The gel is just right, not too hard, not too soft. A trigonometry based physics class with 10+ pages of notes per class followed by a statistics class was made tolerable with this pencil. I used to always use the Sakura SumoGrip for the shape of its padding. It still started to develop a callous on my middle finger further into the semester. With this Uni pencil, no more shaking my hands mid test to relieve a sore hand. Its too bad that this pencil is not exported to the US and we need to rely on international resellers who need to eat. I picked up a few on a recent trip to Asia and they were cheaper, but not by much. The markup by this reseller is very fair.
