应该是我用过纸质最好的一款了，几只平常洇纸的笔都没有洇，但是干的有点慢，左撇子写完手上全是墨，送的小贴纸不知道是干嘛的有没有人告诉我...

Good notebook but mine had some weird texturing in one spot.

Upper tier quality paper, pretty smooth and well put together. I like the really minimalistic design, just wish they would offer a full A4 size notebook at decent price. The quality of the paper is hit or miss. Most pages are really smooth but certain spots on my notebook have weird spots. Look at the attached photo and you'll see what I mean. I used a TWSBI 580 F nib fountain pen with Iroshizuku Asa-Gao ink and got a weird effect when writing, almost like the paper went 8 bit all of a sudden. Is it a huge issue? No. Does it bother people who bother with small details? Yes. It's just me being nitpicky. That area didn't have any difference in felt texture and feedback, just the appearance is off when looking closely.

That being said, the paper provides very nice smooth feedback, doesn't bleed through easily, and has some ghosting present, but that's expected in paper of this thickness class. Overall good smaller notebook, I just wish they offer A4 size around $15.

Best bang for the buck

I was skeptical about this notebook's durability due to the soft cover but I've been impressed. It's my "everyday carry" notebook and it's held up phenomenally. Even the binding is in tip-top shape 2 mo after buying it. The paper feels nice as well, it seems to have substantial weight to it and exhibits little bleedthrough from my Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen.

I can't really say anything negative. I bought this to replace the Amazon Basics knockoff of the Moleskine notebooks- don't get the Amazon Basics, its crap. The binding goes out after a few months on the Amazon Basics. One of my superiors bought one and the spine went out completely on his as well so he had to tape it together, its not a one-off. I also noticed bleedthrough with the Amazon Basics. The Midori is a vastly superior alternative in every imaginable way.

TLDR; Better than expected across the board. An economical, sturdy EDC notebook. Good paper, minimal bleedthrough, rock solid binding.

Great paper and functionality

This is a fantastic notebook with excellent paper. The book opens flat for easy writing. I've used various inks in several different fountain pens with no feathering or bleed through. Mine is coupled with the clear cover that you can purchase for it. Without the cover, the jacket is unprotected and unlike similar brands, such as Moleskine, Rhodia, or Leuchtturm. The cover is merely a light weight card board, similar to craft paper or the paper used for file folders. The good thing about the add on cover is that it comes with a pen/pencil holder (which folds out of the way if you have no use for them, like me) and allows you to customize your notebook's appearance by inserting the artwork of your choice in between the cover and the notebook. It has a useful page marker to keep your place. It is a great notebook with great paper.

Exceptional quality, exceptional binding and finish

What a delightful notebook! Recommended via Wirecutter, so I just went and got this because I use fountain pens, as well as ball pens. Needed thicker paper than what is normally sold, so there is no bleed or the writing showing on the back of the page.

Very soft to the touch, but has a subtle texture to it when you're writing, which makes for a great support for good handwriting. Also, the book LIES FLAT! it is so great, the binding is a kind of a stitching that enables it to be laid down flat.

The binding isn't hardcover, so there is a slight disadvantage as you keep using the book - the book will not retain its tight binding, and will look stretched open, but it is a minor gripe from me, for what is an exceptional product.

I found my new GO-TO.

great notebook. and the quality of the paper is just right for everyday journaling retains smoothness and doesn’t crinkle up (i write on front page only, not back). with a ball point pen, writing does not show through on back side of paper. pages open flat (like a spiral bound notebook) so it’s easy to write but since there is no spiral, they stack neatly and take up less space.
