I've always wanted to have a Parker pen since childhood. I am a college student now, so I couldn't afford buying a very expensive pen. I was just looking for a reasonable, fountain pen made by Parker. After doing some research I found this pen. I've been writing with it for a bit over 2 weeks, and I absolutely love it. As a minimalist I don't care much about material goods, but this pen has become one of the only things that I absolutely love. It has inspired me to write much more than I use to, and as a person who wears bow ties and suspenders, I also feel like it goes with my style.
There are a few minor problems the pen has, but perhaps the most important one is the fact that you can't securely put the cap on the top, and if you try to, the weight distribution makes writing rather uncomfortable. Make sure to buy a compatible pen converter, and ink, because you will only get one blue cartridge.
I would encourage you to look into a few other pen brands, because there are many good options out there. It's hard to find a pen that looks this beautiful though.

About me: This is my second fountain pen - the other being a Lamy that I bought as a starter fountain pen. I am left handed, so I'm used to having some ink smear on the outside of my writing hand.

About this pen: This pen arrived well packaged today. I found the pen with a single ink cartridge when I unboxed it. In preparation for the arrival of this pen, I purchased a Parker Converter Cartridge, which fits perfectly. This pen has a substantial feel - it weighs approximately as much as an early-edition Mont Blanc StarWalker ballpoint pen that I have. I have used this pen un-posted thus far (that is, I haven't stuck the cap of the pen on the back of the pen while writing), and the balance feels very good. I doubt I'd want to use it posted, both because it would probably unbalance the pen and it would almost certainly damage the finish of the pen over time. The pen looks very nice with the cap on or off - it is very stylish and modern, but not too much so. I expect that I won't be embarrassed to use this pen 10 or 15 years from now. The stainless nib is a touch smaller than I anticipated, but not so much that it changes the function. I like everything about the pen that I've noticed so far.

About the writing: I loaded some Noodlers Aircorp Blue-Black ink in a Parker Converter Cartridge and started writing with this pen. It does a great job! The ink flow is smooth and steady - far more consistent than my Lamy. The combination of the pen and the ink works well enough that my left hand (my writing hand) isn't slowly changing color as I write. That's a major plus! I'm using pretty average paper - the stock found in a lined Composition Book - and I'm very pleased with the lines that it's laying down.

I would definitely recommend this pen to anyone who asked. I was looking for a pen that would look as much at home in suit pants as a pair of jeans, a pen that was both understated and stylish, and that would write smoothly without breaking the bank. It hits on all points. The only thing I can't speak to is longevity - I don't know how long the finish will last on this pen, but I don't see any reason to believe it will be short-lived. If I do see any problems, I'll come back and update this post.

First I have to thank the pen showroom. Absolutely best customer service. The pen is beautiful. It works well. I bought this for a friend and she loved it, said she has absolutely no problem writing with it. It's sturdy and pretty heavy. It fits well in the hand. The only thing that left me a bit disappointed is the box that it came in. As you can see by the photos it is different then the one shown on Amazon and honestly I wish it were made of better quality material. I contacted the seller The pen showroom and they said that Parker changed their packaging but they were actually able to find the old box and sent it to me no charge.

Flawless and smooth and comfortable

This pen is very comfortable to hold, it's got a "form" to it... it's not just a straight tube. It just feels right.
This pen worked flawlessly right out of the box. Even after an extended time of non-use (about 2 months), when I used it again, it started writing almost immediately, and once it started writing, it worked flawlessly.

A while back I bought a Lamy fountain pen to write letters to my daughter, Beth. It was to only be used prior to her getting married... and only on special paper chosen for only that use. In comparison, the Lamy pen is complete junk.

I bought this fountain pen for the sole purpose of writing letters to the young man (Corey) who was about to marry my daughter. I swore to use the pen only during the time leading up to the wedding... and I did.

2 weeks ago they got married. At the reception I destroyed both pens. Now it's time to buy a new pen, which will only be used to write letters to my son-in-law and his wife, my daughter.

I think I'll be buying another Parker Urban Premium Chiseled Medium Point Fountain Pen... the color is yet to be determined... but it can't be black... That was Corey's Pen's color.
