I did extensive research on watches in order to make a purchase for my boyfriend for an anniversary gift. I decided to go with this Tissot Visodate Automatic and unfortunately, ended up regretting it. There are two reasons complaints I have: 1) amazon does not price match their own products, even if it changes in two days 2) there was no warranty card in both watches I purchased.

I ended up buying two because the price I purchased it at changed in a two days. I went to check on the status of the order (I have prime) and noticed the price drop by thirty bucks. Not huge, but big enough of a difference that made me purchase a second one in because the customer service rep said that amazon would not price match. Wouldn't price matching upon request, especially if in two days, save us both the trouble?

Because I had two of the same watches, I was more affirmed in believing that these watches were potentially not genuine because of missing warranty cards in BOTH. There should be a warranty card that comes with the manual book inside the watch case box, but it was NOT in either of the Tissot boxes. I'm no expert in watches, but that was enough for me to decide to return both of them. It's not worth risk purchasing a fake watch and I was already hesitant to purchase a watch through Amazon (have never done it before) and the fact that the warranty card was missing in BOTH of the watch boxes when they should be present was clear enough for me.

I have always wanted this watch to add to my watch collection but never had the chance. About a month ago, I stumbled upon this watch while browsing around the mall with my girlfriend and it hit me that this is an overdue purchase. I went onto Amazon and found a great price on it so I immediately purchased the watch. Once I received the watch, I immediately tested the watch for its accuracy and got about +8 seconds a day and was extremely happy (very usable accuracy). I just love the domed sapphire crystal and it gives this watch a much more expensive look. I wish the leather strap is a bit higher quality but it will do until I replace it. The dial is so shiny and reflects light beautifully. Tissot's decision to use the original logo adds a nice vintage touch to the watch and the size is a very good size for most wrists. Also, I really like how the day and date change instantly at midnight; it got me glancing at the watch every midnight, waiting for the day and date to change. Very nice watch and highly recommend for anyone looking for a budget, Swiss made dress watch.

This is a wonderful watch, but there's a few caveats. They describe it as a dress watch and they're not kidding. This Tissot is very refined, stylistically its wonderfully simple. Functionality wise, its a five star situation; it tells time accurately and beautifully. The day/date function is really cool in that it doesn't do the traditional "slowly progress to the correct date" as most watches will, this one, at the stroke of midnight, clicks over instantly. I thought that was neat.
Here's the reason i'm only giving it four stars; (1) This watch is very refined and "dressed up". its a mature, dignified wristwatch. So if you're just running about on weekend, just doing errands or whatever, this watch is WAY out of place! This bums me out, My prior day-to-day was a Victorinox Ambassador chrono, and that was the ultimate all around weekday suit/business casual/weekend watch. Went with everything. (2) the illustration on Amazon's site is a tad misleading, this watch isn't nearly as big as it would lead you to believe. So if you're going from a good size chrono, this will twist your mind a bit getting used to a smaller wristwatch. Also, I actually had to change the band to an open buckle because I couldn't get my hand through the clasp.
So in summary, its a wonderful wristwatch, but if you're looking for a more casual look, this isn't it. -side note, the quality is outstanding for the pricepoint, this feels solid, well-built, its not a tank but it feels very substantial.

The Tissot Heritage Visodate Automatic watch style is based upon the original 1957 model. The watch maintains it's simple retro design and has an expensive and elegant charm. It is a classy watch that you can wear for formal occasions or with T-shirt and jeans.

Dial
The dial of the watch is protected by a slightly domed sapphire crystal. The sapphire crystal does a good job of reflecting the glare in certain lighting situations. The crystal has a small raised edge which looks sharp and in keeping with the rest of the watch.

The hands are slightly curved which allows them to reflect light back for easy visibility. All hour markings are in stainless steel and feature no luminous paint. The second hand stretches to the edge of the dial and has a nice tear shaped counter balance on the other end.

The addition of both day and date wheels means this watch is designed for business. The date window is boxed with a chrome window that follows suit with the glossy stainless steel on the case.

Case
The case has a diameter of 40mm and has a highly polished finish. There is no brushed stainless steel on this watch. The high polish of the watch unfortunately leaves it vulnerable to fingerprints, which could bug some wearers. The case is quite easy to scratch, lots of care needs to be taken whilst wearing this watch. The case has some lovely curves to it, a really smooth looking design.

The watch features a see-through case-back allowing a view to the signed and decorated movement. The watch features a press in case-back which looks sleek but offers little to no protection against water. A screw down case-back would have been a much welcomed addition. Keep this watch away from water.

The case features a thin crown at the 3 o'clock position. The crown has an embossed 'T' and uses the same retro font that was used on the original 1957 Visodate model.

Movement
The watch features a Swiss ETA 2836 movement that beats at 28,000 vibrations per hour. The accuracy of the watch out of the box is about -/+ 15 day. Fortunately, any watchmaker with a little experience should be able to regulate the movement and make it more accurate. The movement features both hacking and hand winding capabilities.

Band
The watch comes with a 20mm wide black leather band that features a stamped crocodile pattern, fine black edge stitching, and a stainless steel deployant clasp that is engraved with the Tissot logo.

Review Conclusion
The Tissot Heritage Visodate is a fantastic watch for the money. The quality and finish is close to perfection. The timeless styling makes it a perfect timepiece for any man. This sleek watch is a great investment and it will look good on your wrist for many years to come.
