I had to buy this to replace an older 5 disc changer. This one has all the same features that the old one had with a few additional features. It as a USB input that you can use to play music through and it also reads the disc and displays the titles on the menu. The cd player plays everything very smoothly, it is quick in change discs, and the sound quality is perfect cd quality. This was a must have for my school because amany o the teachers do things old school and using their phone to play music just isn't going to happen. Especially when some of them still want to use their record players for performances.
Cds are almost obsolete but if you have a large selection of them it is nice that you can still buy something to play them on. Additionally cds are higher quality than mp3s. I am not sure if the new apple acc files are original cd quality, but in the beginning you lost quality with the music in this format as well. Most people have forgotten that in quality music you can still hear the things like fingers sliding across the guitar strings.
