I have a G-Shock and it's a behemoth, rigid, always falling down my wrist, and it's a good thing it's indestructible* because it's so bulky it gets caught on and bumps up against everything in the world. *News Flash: It's NOT indestructible because my 18 month old broke the lume and he's not very strong--can't bench jack, zero pushups in a row, decent core strength though.
I bought this tidy little gem because I had nothing to lose with it costing only $20. Totally worth it. The smaller size looks much better on my normal size wrist than the gargantuan G-Shock. Just to overdo my point, the G-Shock's size is ridiculous and not at all fashionable. You think it looks good on you, makes you look more manly, but it does not. It makes you look like you borrowed a six year old's arm and are wearing the Jolly Green Giant's wristwatch.
So I can stop ranting, but try this watch out. The blue is a cool color--kind of indigo--and the style is not over done. It's a watch you wear, not a watch that wears you.

needed a non-bulky men's watch because women's watches always tend to be thin, weak, analog, and impossible to read. the casio illuminator has a really low profile design and comes in a nice, subtle shade of black. it was really easy to set up the date/time and it has stopwatch and alarm features which might come in handy. the band holes go all the way around so it fits on my tiny wrist (i usually have to poke more holes). its fully water resistant too so i can tell the time in the shower / pool / beach and take it to places my phone cant. really happy with this purchase! good choice for ladies who prefer functionality over fashion :)

Incredible Value. Lower profile than a G-Shock and super light weight. Also, larger digits than most G's. My G-Shock was always catching on my sleeves under cold weather dress, this is much smoother. Resin strap and surround is less rubbery than G-Shock resin but still enough flex in band to handle hard use. Crystal is flush with bezel but haven't scratched it in a few weeks of hard wear. Illuminator is orange and evenly bright across display.
