Way, way better than a standard roller. It applies even pressure, eliminates streaks and lines, and is much easier to use.
I was a bit disappointed when it arrived because it a cheapish plastic (I was used to the 18" metal Wooster roller of similar design). But, for less than $15 it was a great purchase. It survived painting my entire 2400 square foot home--I sprayed the ceilings, doors, and trim, but rolled all the walls.
