Anyone who's ever pressed a button or turned a dial on a piece of home theater gear knows that the world of interconnects is populated by "gold-plated" this and "oxygen free" that. Some of these products make some... well, monstrous claims about the return on investment that their stratospheric asking prices will deliver. And, if you're already in deep in truly high end gear (and have the meters and test equipment to demonstrate the edge these hifalutin cables promise), some might actually be worth it.
I, having none of the above, would rather spend my close-to-retirement income elsewhere.
To the point: these optical connects are meaty, well-built, and feel like high quality - which they most certainly are. When I was marrying some legacy gear (among which was a LaserDisc player - don't judge me) to my newish Yamaha 7.1 amp and 4K TV, the opportunity to use optical sound connections was available, so I picked these low-cost hookups, and couldn't be happier. They're stout, slick, and they work - really well.
No, I don't have high-end stuff (nor the tools to bench test anything), but I know a really good deal when I see - and hear - one. Very highly recommended.
