Everything about this system is great except for one amazingly awful detail. There is no way to use the radio (change stations) without the remote. The sound quality for a small system is great but you is a huge facepalm moment for Onkyo not to use the CD track buttons as Tuning buttons when using as a radio. Its bizarre that someone in a design meeting wouldn't think that you would want or need to do that.
I have an Onkyo receiver at home and it works great, so its odd this design lacks that when the buttons are right there.
This thing will do everything else you need, bluetooth, CDs, and sound solid doing it. If Onkyo updates this design to fix the radio functionality I'd buy this in a heartbeat.

The Onkyo CS-265 mini Hi-fi CD Bluetooth Stereo System: If you are in need for a smaller, good quality, great sounding stereo unit, then this is a good choice! It's small and compact in size, looks good, seems to be made very good, and sounds great! The Bluetooth works great. The radio works great and picks up stations really well. The USB port works great. The CD player works great! And these days it's becoming harder and harder to find a mini system that actually sounds good and has all these features. Plus the CD player so far has been working really good , unlike most of the other cheaper CD systems out there now days that seem to be so cheaply made and always end up breaking quickly or just don't work! Just cause everything is going to mp3 files and stuff doesn't mean that they should stop making CD players that work. Some people as is me, still buy and collect the actual CD albums. Plus this system just sounds so nice and clear. And I have noticed that it is hard to find a halfway good sounding little system any more, especially one that has a CD player! But anyways this mini unit is a great buy. It sounds great for the size and the size of the speakers. Clear mids, Highs, and nice lows. Now don't expect to have hard pounding lows, because there is not a sub with this system. But the bass does sound pretty good. All in all I feel that this mini stereo system is of great quality and sound. Yes it's a little more expensive, but if you want whatever you are listening to to sound good, then it is worth the price. I have owned this unit for probably about 6 months now and so far haven't had any issues with it. And I use this for atleast four hours almost every day. I DO recommend this item. I'm very pleased with this purchase. I will update if I ever have any problems with it in the future.
Review of the Onkyo CR-265 in white. I spent over six hours on the internet researching small shelf systems and decided on this model. The size is nice, but the speakers are cheap. The cabinets are made of plastic instead of sturdy MDF or wood. The sound is awful... too much bass even after I turned off the S.bass. Midrange was also muted. I had to set the bass on -2 and the treble on +2 to get any decent sound. The receiver sounded much better with a pair of AudioEngine P4 speakers, but still strong on the bass and weak in the midrange. Even my old RadioShack Minimus 7 speakers sounded better but with muddy bass. I am returning this system for a refund. I don't like having to do that since I have been returning a lot of things lately. Spending six or more hours to find one product and then returning it is not good. I miss the old brick-and-mortar stores that have the separate audio rooms where I can audition the components first. And no, I do not live anywhere near NYC or Chicago where there might still be such stores.
mp3's, smart phones, tablets, cloud, Pandora, music downloads, blue tooth etc. etc. But what about those of us who happen to like CD'S and have large CD collections. Do you want to pay $500 or $1000 dollars for the one piece units that the company that starts with the letter B sells. You don't have to. I've been there, done that. For less than $250.00, you can buy this, and it absolutely sounds better than the aforementioned units. I had an earlier model Onkyo mini stereo system that served me well for 4 years. I think this model sounds a little better, fuller, and clearer than the previous one, which sounded fine. This unit also has a sturdier CD tray, and it loads the CD quicker. If you want a very reasonably priced, compact unit for your CD collection, the CS-265 is worth checking out.
