I am a long time Levis 505 wearer. However, the last couple of pairs that I bought did not fit as well as the older ones - the waist is too tight, the pockets are much shallower than before, the length varies - things like that. You pay a premium for Levis, but are not getting the same premium quality as before. I found the Lee jeans at Costco and bought a pair to try. I found the Lee jeans to fit better and are more comfortable. The Premium Select that I bought have a little bit of stretch so they give when you bend and provide some give around the waist. I have since purchased 2 more pairs and will continue to buy them in the future.

A little tight at waist/thigh, but stretches. Small ankle opening prevents back from touching ground

With the spandex material, length after washing is shorter than the wrangle jeans so length did not need hemming. However the thigh and hip width is tighter than any other jeans I have with size 30 waist (all older and 100% cotton). I may give to my son who is a little thinner than I am.

One week update: since I already washed the jeans, I decided to wear them. After wearing for about an hour, the jeans stretched and are fairly comfortable in the thigh and waist which initially were a little tight. I was going to try to give to my son, but I decided to keep them. Will upgrade to 4 stars.

Two week update: I am keeping the jeans. The length is as long as some of my slacks which touch the ground when I walk in bare feet (a pet peeve of mine). However, the ankle opening is just small enough that it keeps the back part from touching the ground when I am in barefeet which is unique (in a good way) for any jean I have ever owned. I guess the spandex material is useful in that way. So this is the first seat of jeans I have ever owned where I have NOT had to hem up the bottom. The material is a little thinner than my other jeans, but that is not a big issue. These have grown on me. We'll see in a month or two, but I may buy another pair. Will upgrade to 5 stars.

Lee may be the new Levi!

Being 6' 3", I need a slightly higher rise. I bought Levi's also with my Lee order. I ordered the same type material and style from Levi via their 505 style. It was supposed to "rest at the waist" but was in fact a much lower rise and not as comfortable as the Lee. Also, the Lee material was nicer than the Levi material. I had to return the Levi's.
My only con is Lee, like all the other makers do not offer a 33" inseam that would be ideal for me.

I have been a 505 guy for a long time. At the retail stores, the other major brand go for $60. Best sale is usually a buy one, get one 50% off. That's still $90 for two pair of jeans. These jeans are $31 each. I think the fabric feels better to me. There are more belt loops than the other major brand. The additional belt loops helps so the waist stays under the belt. I'm happy with them so far. We will have to wait and see how they fair in the long run.

Shopping at the mall for these jeans was driving me crazy. When I finally found the brand (Lee), sinze ,and style that suited, the store onliy had one of thej. So , I went to Amazon and ordered a pair. as a test,

They fit, but I didn't like the color, so I returned them and ordered two more pair in different shades (there are, like, 11 shades offered!). These also arrived quickly -- and they are just right.

So from now on I am buying my jeans - and maybe other clothes - from Amazon. The frustrations of shopping at a mall store are not worht it.

And by the way, the Amazon jeans were cheaper.
