Resists Drying Out
BIC Brite Liner Highlighters won't dry out* when the cap is left off for up to eight hours, so you can use them for extended periods of time without having to switch to another highlighter.
*I might have made that up, but these do work well and last a long time.
I go through them quickly, but I got through 3 books in a day and didn't kill one. The lifespan is tremendous as long as you are diligent about putting the cap back on. I left the cap off after accidentally napping at my desk (cough) for a few hours (cough) and the lifespan was drastically depleted.
I also find these easier to hold on a plane or while walking around my house during reading time. Something about them makes them extremely stable to use and I don't drop them like I do so many others.
In terms of college, I might go for an industrial-sized version of these; but for around $1500 in books per year just to keep current with my profession I can usually get by with 2 or 3 boxes.
