I got my son a rebuilt computer for Christmas along with a new graphics card. I was unaware that the monitor with the system I purchased only had DVI and displayport connections and only came with the displayport cord. The monitor absolutely has to be connected to the card to display an image. The graphics card has HDMI and DVI ports, so I needed a way to make them interface.
Voila! This adapter performs perfectly. I have the DVI end plugged into the monitor and the HDMI end plugged into the graphics card. Works exactly as expected and my son is playing Kaiju Universe on Roblox with no visual lag as I type.

As I type this, I am using the cable to display 4k 60Hz from my DVI-only AMD RX 470 in Windows 11. DVI is normally limited to 1920x1080 in Windows due to the 165 MHz pixel clock limit, and I could only display 1080p resolution by default. I had to download and run the free AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher which increases the clock limit. The author of this software is well-known and trustworthy, and he also has a version that works with nVidia cards. There may also be software out there that patches this limit on built-in Intel video. Note that very old AMD/nVidia cards or the built-in video on Intel CPUs may not support 4k 60Hz, and no unlock would likely work on them. Please note that you'll need to reboot after applying the patch and you'll need to reapply the patch every time you update your video card driver (may happen every few months or never).

Had an old monitor given to me. It is in great shape so I decided to purchase this adapter. Works great. Cannot "split" the screen, but I can use it to "extend my screen" which works just fine for just a couple of dollars. I have bought many cables from Amazon over the years and their Amazon Basics are always the best value and great quality.

I purchased 3 monitor cords before I found the right one. Funny face to face with a person and I came home with the wrong cord twice. I ordered from Amazon and it was the right one the first time! It was a good price and works well. It does the job it is supposed to and didn’t break the bank
