Bought in December. Wish I had the ability to see in person before purchase. I hoped this would be my one and done bag...but you don’t know until you buy & try.
Nice color. The style is cool and it’s a relatively compact size to wear and carry, but the material does seem thin, and the zipper has gotten stuck a few times. I’ve been careful to not pull on them.
The side mesh pockets are extremely tight and flat, so I couldn’t put a bottle of water in them. I’ve used the tripod side strap thing and placed the end in one of the mesh pockets, Hope it won’t tear the mesh every time. They could have put a sturdier material on the inside and bottom of the mesh pocket. The shoulder straps are a little stiff, but comfortable enough. My 13 in MBP **just** fits into the front/ inside sleeve area. I’ve not trusted actually leaving it in there and carrying my laptop with me when I’m out at this point.
The padding in the back and on the side walls is nice. I bought this because no one can steal your gear—you have to take off the pack to get to the majority of the gear. Which creates another issue, please read below. Also, if the zipper were to break on the back compartment, you’re in trouble.
I can fit all my Fuji mirrorless equipment. I’ve got an xt20, a 35, and two zooms and all fit in the padded areas with some rearranging. The velcro safety strap thing sometimes doesn’t seem to want to stick to the fuzzy part of the wall. It’s nice that you can rearrange the walls though. In the upper compartment I keep battery charger, more SD cards, and personal items. There’s not much organization in the top compartment.
If you like to switch lenses often, this isn’t the bag for you for everyday. I’d go for a side pack, something over the shoulder or across the body for **QUICK** access, and really consider your shooting style. I found myself having to place the pack on benches or curbs or on the ground (which the material will show small scratches from just gently placing on a surface/a bit annoying) or whatever, or ask someone to hold the pack for me, to get to my gear and swap, and then secure back in a spot, velcro across, zip gently, and then back on my person. I didn’t consider the time factor required to swap lenses before I purchased and wish I had thought it through more!! Keeping this pack for travel and when I want/need my entire kit. For walking about and a local day trip, I’ll look for something a bit more sturdy, with quicker access and the security features I want, like zippered compartment under another type of closure. I guess the struggle for the perfect bag continues...
