I had previously purchased a Worlds Best Cables headphone extension cable and being very satisfied with it, decided to "experiment" and buy the 1 Foot – Audiophile High-Definition Audio Interconnect Cable Pair. I'm using a desktop DAC and headphone amplifier with Sennheiser HD6XX and Beyerdynamics DT 1990 Pro headphones. The 6 inch interconnect cable between the DAC and headphone amp was always satisfactory, previously using it without giving it much thought, in terms of cable audio quality.
The WBC cables arrived yesterday and I immediately substituted them for the existing cable. I did initially have installation difficulties because this cable is very stiff and I have a limited amout of space behind the DAC and amp. A little cable bending solved that and I first connected my Sennheiser headphones. I've always been somewhat of a curious skeptic, when it comes to audio differences between cables... No more, because there was an immediately very noticeable improvement in audio. Sound is very hard to describe but for me, bass tightened and the headphones now have a not small improvement in feeling more exciting and alive. Highs are more "sparkly" and present and midrange female vocals now have an "airiness" and are even more stunning. I even listened to a few reggae albums and truthfully am very happily surprised, as the improvements in percussion and bass are very much more clear and impactful. It's all, for me, like previously having listened through a very clean and clear window. This cable seems to have opened the window. Skepticism, at least for this cable, in this system, is very happily and greatly diminished. Easily recommended!
