I'm a personal journal writer and i wanted a template I could use to highlight my notes and thoughts. For example, I often leave lists for myself to do, and in order to see whether a list contains items I have done (or not done) I leave check boxes. It helps immensely. Anyone can draw a box, but most of those boxes look pretty darn sloppy. Well, not anymore. I have boxes of all types for me to use, and I'm glad at the change in how they look.
The same goes for circles, or small arrows, or semicircles or triangles, and so on. There's a good variety of basic shapes and sizes -- I'm pleased with the offering. I might have liked a few more items -- like stars, for instance -- yet that would have meant knocking out a few of the sizes of circles or squares or what have you, so I understand the choice.
Sure, there are bigger templates, but I'm a Midori journal guy who uses the Passport size model, and that's not a large journal. The little pockets I have are about 3 1/4" by 4 1/2" and this little model (about 3" square) fits nicely within. This is a big consideration, and it was central to my decision to buy it.
All things told, I'm very pleased with the Pickett General Purpose Drafting Template.
