I just bought this from another well know outdoor supply company so I could use up my annual dividend but will review here because this is where I do my reviews.
Firstly, I love this brand and own many items made by them, I even have a Black Hole Duffle that has served me well for several decades. This tote is an exception to the rule though, I am quite disappointed in this Black Hole Tote.
I thought it would be a good giant bag (compared to the model in the photos) to pack up small in the bottom of my duffle and bring out on a trip to haul stuff around. This is not the bag for that, in my opinion.
1. Yes, it came folded up in its own inside pocket, however I think it would take an origami wizard to get it back in there. It was very difficult to get out and I was fearful of breaking the zipper in the process. It's not all that small a package anyhow, so I am not even going to try to get it back in there.
2. Yes, there is a toggle closure. It is very small and not that easy to manipulate. I will probably never use it.
3. It is much smaller than I expected, based on the photos. That model must be a tiny woman.
4. The handles are just a couple inches too short to really carry it easily on my shoulder. Again, that model must be very small, I am 5'2" myself, and of slight build, and the handles are just barely long enough for me to sling it up onto my shoulder.
Good points: it is a very sturdy bag, sturdy construction, sturdy materials. It opens wide so you can throw your stuff in without searching through pockets and compartments. It has little tucks sewn into to the bast and the top corners to give it some shape and encourage it to stand up and open while you load or unload it.
I'm sure I will find a use for it but this is not the tuck-away go-everywhere bag I imagined it to be, based on descriptions and photos.
