商品描述
Kingston’s A400 solid-state drive dramatically improves the responsiveness of your existing system with incredible boot, loading and transfer times compared to mechanical hard drives. Powered by a latest-gen controller for read and write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 450MB/s¹, this SSD is 10x faster than a traditional hard drive² for higher performance, ultra-responsive multi-tasking and an overall faster system. Also more reliable and durable than a hard drive, A400 is built with Flash memory. There are no moving parts, making it less likely to fail than a mechanical hard drive. It is also cooler and quieter and its shock and vibration resistance makes it ideal for notebooks and other mobile computing devices. A400 is available in multiple drive form factors and capacities from 120 GB-960 GB to give you all the space you need for applications, videos, photos and other important documents. You can also replace your hard drive or a smaller SSD with a drive big enough to hold all your files. This SSD is designed for use in desktop and notebook computer workloads and is not intended for server environments.
- Based on out-of-box performance using a SATA Rev. 3.0 motherboard. Speed may vary due to host hardware, software and usage. IOMETER random 4k random read/write is based on an 8 GB partition.
- Some of the listed capacity on a Flash storage device is used for formatting and other functions and is thus not available for data storage. As such, the actual available capacity for data storage is less than what is listed on the products.

The attached screenshots are speedtests while it's still quite empty-only about 130GB is in use here. The speedtests are quite good. Actually, when you consider the price they're great. Sequential speeds come close to saturating the SATA III bus which is nice.
On the right, you'll see that the drives S.M.A.R.T statistics reported a nearly new drive-although it indicates it's been powered on 8 times which was strange..this was the first time I had powered the drive up after partitioning.
On setup: This drive comes blank, obviously. It needs to be partitioned then formatted & assigned a drive letter so you can use it. My OS wasn't stored stored here-but if your using this as a boot drive, obviously you'll need to install Windows to it at this point.
This is a GREAT drive for an older PC, or for secondary storage or use for extra games.
The bad: This is a DRAMless SSD. So, when writing large large amounts of data to it for long periods of time it will slow a bit. This has no effect on read speeds though and unless your in video/music production your unlikely to even notice. It doesn't show in speed tests, it shows in extended operation during file copy for example (when the file is greater than 30GB+)
But for $30? Pretty good.

I used Macrium Reflect to restore a snapshot image of the HDD (being replaced) to the SDD (this thing).
All worked perfectly and now 6x faster (measured) disk. It would have been even faster if the laptop was capable of SATA3. This laptop is now feeling a lot better as Windows10 bloated over its lifetime. It's good for a few more years now.
Download the health monitoring and firmware updater from Kingston.

Seeking times are dramatically reduced on an SSD over a traditional HDD, which will speed up loading times in general, however the bus in the ps3 doesn't support high enough speeds to take full advantage of the SSD. With this in mind it was a very worth while investment. I would go with the size that makes the most sense you, this will be a little large for most people, but since I have many digital games, it made for a good fit for me.

I optimized my C:\ drive before cloning it, removing obsolete apps and temporary files, and I made a System Image backup. I downloaded Macrium's Reflect Free cloning software from the Internet; Reflect Free has an intuitive user interface and it cloned my HDD to the SSD almost automatically. Swapping the SSD for the HDD involved shifting four screws, a power connector and a data connector. My 11-year-old computer booted on first try and now it boots acceptably fast, an affordable revitalization.
