It works great, only complaint is the weird shape of the phone clip part makes it awkward to put anywhere when not in use.

It clips into an SN30 Pro 8bitdo controller perfectly. The only downside is that the weight of your phone in the clip will pull on ya a bit, but you will adjust to it quickly. Hold that weight for long periods of time will cause some cramping or aches, but that will happen with holding anything to long, especially a pad controller with no ergonomic design on it. It is also difficult to remove if you've clipped your nails real short, but not impossible. It's a good product for portable gaming on your phone for whatever methods you are using on it. Would recommend.

I have purchased this in order to use Steam Link on my phone, to play PC games such as Monster Hunter World. So you can say I have tested this all the buttons of the controller as well as analog sticks

The smartphone clip works as advertised, with caveats. The SF30 is not a heavy controller. Smartphones, however, are, so there will be a bad weight distribution. This is not the fault of the controller, or the smartphone clip, but you need to keep this in mind. I did not expect it to be a problem when I first got it, but when I first used it, it really felt strange. However, at some point I got used to it, and I think most people will. I am able to play quests in Monster Hunter World (not the very hard ones, haven't tried those yet) and I am able to do high rank quests comfortably.

My main issue, however, is that it is a 2-piece rigid design. What this means is that you cannot put it in your pocket unless you disassemble it, which is very inconvenient and opens up the potential for one of the pieces to get loss. In fact, in my case, it has already gotten lost. So be careful.

As others have pointed out, it can be a little difficult to get off so that you can charge the controller, but with a little practice, it can become easy. The weight distribution is a bit off, so that when you have the phone in, it throws the balance off. I attached some small, smooth, metal pieces to the part that clamps to the controller to balance it out a little more so that it does not cause undo stress to the hands. Not perfect, but better.

Still a great product, and I look forward to more 8BitDo toys.

I have a sturdy protective shell on my phone, and yet I can fit it into this clip. With my 8BitDo controller clipped to it as well, I've got all my handheld and retro gaming in one place. But the design could use a little improvement. There are rubber grips that hold the phone in place through tension mounting, but if you have a larger phone, you have to be careful not to move around too much. Also, if your phone is heavier, playing with the controller elevated will quickly cause muscle fatigue. Playing with the controller on a flat surface is difficult as well, because it tends to rock back and forth with the clip attached.
