I owned an original Centon DataStick Pro and have been very happy with it for past 3 years. I ordered these thinking they'd be the same, but they turned to have write speed 3x as slow (5MB/s vs 15MB/s), corrupt every other file, and actually physically fall apart.
My previous stick looks like the listed photo of the product, the ones that got delivered do not. The edges of the original product are smoother (more round, less sharp) and the color is lighter than the ones that got delivered. Are these fakes maybe?
lsusb on Linux reports this:
ID 13fe:4200 Kingston Technology Company Inc.
On the original product, it reported:
ID 058f:6387 Alcor Micro Corp. Flash Drive
Either these are fakes, or Centon has changed contractor and lowered its standards to the point of useless.
