I purchased a floor model gaming laptop and got a great deal. The floor models run all day so I had to clean it up and upgrade it with a few things. The original stock thermal paste was barely there when I opened up the computer to reveal the CPU/GPU. My temps were extremely high when the computer was idle. After I applied a pea sized dot of this to the CPU and a line of it to the GPU, I checked the performance. I literally dropped around 20 degrees in idle. I couldn't believe it. I must have added a ridiculous amount of life to this computer just by replacing the stock paste and applying the MX-4. I was going to just put a thermal pad on it, but I'm glad that I went with this paste. 100%!

I have a not so old gaming laptop, i was recently watching some videos with guides how to re-paste pre-build gaming builds including laptops and why to re-paste them.

So because of online reviews and videos i found out my gaming laptop where running to high temps and my system was on the edge of burning out peaks of 98 degrees celcius (208 ºF)
Even on a laptop cooling pad my system was almost burning on idle (this was from day 1 when i bought it new)

Turns out HP and many other manufacturers are applying bad thermal paste causing systems to fail early,

See photos i attached of a 2 year old gaming laptop how bad the thermal paste looks like and how bad it is applied.
After cleaning off the old paste (which was really messy and the CPU was not even sufficient covered) i applied the MX-4 Arctic paste to the GPU and CPU die

before system core temps of the CPU and GPU: 90 ºC / 194 ºF idle and 98 ºC / 208.4 ºF peak

after with MX-4 Arctic CPU and GPU: 40 ºC / 104 ºF idle and 75 ºC / 167 ªF peak

MX-4 Verdict:

For $10 buy yourself some quality MX-4 thermal paste, Arctic MX-4 does the job properly and could save your new and old system some expensive repairs.
You should never rely on factory thermal paste this includes what AMD and Intel supplies with their OEM coolers or manufacturers with their GPU cards even big brands like MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte...

MX-4 claims to last 8 years which in my opinion is much much more what laptops and pc manufacturers use in their hardware.
Not only you will have lower temperatures but also gain more performance (I gained 40 FPS in World of Warcraft and a more stable FPS without lag spikes duo thermal throttling)
