Awesome product, questionable quality control

I ordered one, it arrived and I put new batteries in. Two minutes after I connect it to a Switch, it gives the "low battery" warning. Annoying, but it works.
A couple of minutes later, my Z and R switch places. Weird? I reconfigure my Smash profile.
Another couple minutes and they switch places back. Okay, this is getting annoying. I switch them back.
And all this time I keep getting "low battery" messages every minute. Something is definitely wrong.

I ordered a replacement and immediately set it up with new batteries and tried using it. It now works perfectly, very responsive and no misinputs. Also, no "low battery" message (it did show up after a couple of hours, probably when the battery was actually starting to die). Awesome!

If you get these kind of errors, you have a faulty unit, and you should order a replacement! I'm glad to be protected by Amazon in these cases.

Arrived early! Fantastic adapter that flawlessly synced up with my Switch in seconds! both my old GC controller and Wii classic controller work great with it, no missed button presses or any kind of lag.
8bitdo seriously has some amazing products, I highly recommend this adapter!

This product is amazing. I had looked at it before but didn't really understand what it is. This product turns wired controllers into wireless Bluetooth controllers that can connect to the Switch or to Windows. On the one side you can plug in a wired GameCube controller. On the other side you can plug in any controller that uses the type of plug found on the bottom of the WiiMote (but obviously not the Nunchuk attachment), which include Wii Pro Controllers, NES Classic Controllers, and SNES Classic Controllers. But, you may say, not all of those controllers have the same buttons as the Switch controllers. And this is where the buttons on the GBros Adapter come in handy. It has the buttons that you lack for the Switch. For example the GameCube controller maps the start button to the Plus button, and the red button on the GBros is the minus button.

But how does it work? I hooked up my wired GameCube controller and played Smash Brothers on my Switch. It was glorious. No noticeable lag and I layed the law down and delivered a sound beating to computer controlled characters for a couple of hours. (Granted I had them on a low setting, but even then multiple characters can get chaotic.
Besides, I was looking to give a beat down not me challenged. But even when I upped the challenge the GBros Adapter was flawless.) Fun, fun, fun. I highly recommend this product. I have four now.

Someone may counter that you can use the GameCube adapter for the Switch. I have that product and it works just fine. But I have to borrow my WaveBird receivers to make that happen wirelessly, which is okay but still a little cumbersome. I also have to use up the two USB ports on the Switch. The GBros Adapter is just quicker and cleaner to get going on my Switch. It doesn't mean I am against using the GameCube ports unit at all. I have one for my Wii U and my Switch. It's a great little product. But getting to turn my wired controllers into Bluetooth Wireless controllers is just priceless. Plus it gives me options as well because I have 3 different types of Wii Pro Controllers. And it can be used on Windows as well. If you're on the fence, buy one. Connect it up. Play some Smash Bros or whatever game you like that uses a pro style controller. Let the smile on your face make your decision for you.

Awesome Product for Raspberry Pi 3b+!

I have a Raspberry Pi 3B+ running Retropie. I bought this so that I could connect a Wii Classic Controller to the Pi wirelessly. What can I say? It works like a charm! This is an amazing little product. You just plug the controller in, get the Bluetooth set up within Retropie, and you're good to go.

I like this thing a lot, because it feels sturdy, not made of super-cheap plastic. Also, it uses 2 AA batteries instead of USB charging, which is awesome. I hate when devices have built-in charges. With this, I can use rechargeable batteries and they work great.

My only quibble is that the place that holds the batteries feels really tight. It can be a bit hard to get the batteries into there. But it's only a minor gripe.

I haven't used the Gamecube controller port yet, but I plan to. These things are so good, I've ordered 2 more of them. I plan to set up 3 of them for multiplayer games on the Pi.

If you are setting up a Raspberry Pi gaming station, and if you already have some Wii Classic controllers or Gamecube controllers laying around, and you are not looking forward YET AGAIN to buying more controllers, then this is the product for you! Just make sure your Raspberry Pi has Bluetooth, or you might have to buy a separate dongle for that.

Highly Recommended!

P.S. Be careful about whether or not you do a firmware update on this with Retropie. I updated the firmware on all my adapters, and that immediately broke all my Bluetooth connections. I tried to delete my controllers and re-add them, but my Pi wouldn’t even see them broadcasting any Bluetooth signal at all. Luckily, the 8bitdo website lets you choose your firmware package. So I experimented with lower update numbers. The only one that would work with my Pi was the lowest setting, which I think was version 2.12. The highest version is 2.24 right now I think? Updating them was a BAD experience that wasted hours of my time so if your using this with a Pi 3B+, do yourself a favor and DON’T update it!
