I bought this product with product protection from SquareTrade. I had to wait a month to get all my computer components to do my custom build as I really wanted to build something that would last me a few years. I am no gamer that is into overclocking and stuff but just wanted a decent rig for my photo editing. So finally, when I started putting together my rig and plugged in the PSU, I realized that this product was dead on arrival and did not even start. So i reached out to SquareTrade as part of my purchase protection, and they said that since it is DOA, i need to reach out to the manufacturer directly. So i was like why I paid for product protection if you can’t help. So, lesson learned, SquareTrade is not really a help for purchase protection and do not recommend it to anyone ever.
So my next recourse was to call Asus and got a RMA and sent the product in for repairs. After 3 days, Asus says that even they can’t figure out what is wrong with the unit and they need to send me a new replacement. I was very grateful and said thank you as this is not a cheap PSU by any means. However, after 5 business days and multiple calls, no one at Asus can tell me anything about the replacement or when the replacement will ship. It’s been two weeks now and i am just waiting for someone at Asus to give me some answer and get me my replacement.
I have been an ASUS ROG fan for years and have had ROG products throughout, but I think this is the last straw and last Asus product that I will buy as a new ASUS ROG Maximus XI motherboard died on me too, but that’s another story. Sometimes, It’s not just the looks but the quality and support that goes with it and sadly, right now, i am just making calls to get something back for what i paid good money for. So bye bye to ASUS and SqaureTrade from now on.
