These are 4-pole Speakon plugs with only two pins present. While this seems like an ok proposition at first, it all depends on the jack that you plug one into. In my case all of the 4-pole Speakon jacks I’m using have four metal pins of their own that are designed to make secure contact with the equivalent pins in the plug. However in this plug there are no pins in the 2+ and 2- positions so the jack’s metal pins dig into the plastic of the plug making it almost impossible to remove the plug. If you “convert” your 4-pole Speakon jacks to having only two pins present: 1+ and 1-, these plugs will lock and unlock just fine and they make good secure contact. I wouldn’t recommend plugging these into a speaker or amplifier jack that you have not specifically modified though; as described in some other reviews they go in just fine but can be borderline impossible or destructive to remove.

I purchased the connectors and receptacles as a set - Twenty connectors and 4 receptacles. Unfortunately, I delayed assembling the fixture that utilized these components. I have previously used the name brand - Neutrik product; I ordered these considering the significant savings.

When I went to utilize the product, the connector/receptacle was incompatible. The Neutrik product was. Upon closer inspection, the center pin was keyed. In the non-branded, the pin is not machined to match its own receptacle. See attached photos. I now have 20 unusable connectors. As noted, I was too late to return them to Amazon. My guidance, pay the few $ extra for the name brand.

Be gentle with them. Not good for repeated use.

Fits OK, slight tolerance differences from original Neutrik connectors. Problem is internal contacts are not full barrel pins as originals, but a thin metal barrel shell formed over a plastic shape. This gets caught when locking the connector in place after a few uses. The barrel shell falls off and eventually gets smashed within he connector or just breaks off. I now understand the price difference from the actual Neutrik product.

Buyer beware these are 2 pin but will NOT!! fit in a 2 pole socket. The reason for this is a 4 pin cannot fit into a 2 pole not only because of the pins but because of the internal housing is different. This is a 4 pin housing that just happens to have only 2 pins installed. If you need a 2 pin to fit a two pole then look for a crecent shape cutout in the center of the housing. These do work well in a 4 pole housing so any reviews saying these dont work is false. However the product description is misleading and should be more clear.

I won't buy these again. The quality is very poor when trying to tighten them up after the cables are connected. The type of plastic threads strips when tightening them up. I'm gonna have to check these before using them until I can buy replacements of real quality. I should have returned them, but I didn't get around to using them until I had them for a couple weeks. Thanks, Stan
