-the picture and detail looks superb on my 120" white PVC screen. I've played Nintendo switch on it, no lag and movies from a fire stick. Super bright, even with the lights on and shades partially drawn in my basement. The lumens are plenty adequate.
-the built in speaker isn't meant to be a solution but it produces significant, undistorted volume and sound. Not bad at all for a tiny speaker.
-all the right ports in the rear, powered usb for things such as an Amazon fire stick, 2 HDMI, generic 3.5mm audio jack for 2 channel computer speakers.
HOW I CONNECT A NON HDMI DVD PLAYER WITH SURROUND SOUND TO THE PROJECTOR OR ANY PROJECTOR.
I'm using an HDMI audio extractor ($20) with an optical port to hook up to my surround sound speakers (5.1 channel) . My source whether it be the Nintendo switch or fire stick connects to the HDMI "in" on the external device which is my audio extractor I mentioned, then I connect an HDMI cable from the devices HDMI "out" to any one of the projectors HDMI ports. The optical cable then goes from the device optical port directly to the optical port on the DVD player that I use for my surround sound. Turn everything on and I'm good to go to enjoy great audio on my projector. It was difficult for me to find a solution reading through various reviews and general searches so I did it myself and I hope this helps many folks finally figure it out.
Super Sized Movies and Games
With a ***short throw lens***, this projector delivers huge images in modest-sized rooms. So whether you’re a movie buff or a casual gamer, this projector lets you go big at home.
I have compared to my Optoma GT1080 Short Throw Gaming Projector which can do 111" screen at 4 feet. The ViewSonic 110" at 12-Feet.
If you want a true short throw don't buy this one. If you don't care about the short throw then this projector is amazing.
EDIT: The projector was replaced free of charge and worked just fine. Sorry for taking so long to update. Good projector with lots of enjoyment. But at this point probably some other options out there. Good luck all!
