I mostly like this impact driver.
The single handed chuck works well. A more recent invention although not exclusive to this Craftsman unit. Trigger is easy to modulate speed. At full throttle this really hits hard for a budget impact driver, more than enough for most jobs. Ergonomics are good overall with a nice, over molded grip. Unfortunately I did find the reverse switch a little tricky to manipulate with the side of my thumb due to its small size. Just kinda gets lost in the overmolding.
Battery life is okay but not great given the single included battery is only 1.3 amp hours. That rating is a little shy of most competitors entry level batteries, and 2 ah would be more fitting of the tool. I would imagine anyone considering this driver already has other Craftsman 20v tools and batteries though. It is nice that the battery has a level indicator which the cheap Dewalt batteries do not.
The single LED light is somewhat weak and my other tools have 3. Drill comes with no case, no belt clip and a single PH2 bit that may or may not even be impact rated. Don’t look like it. There are obvious cost cuts here. Whether they are deal breakers or not is up to you, but the tool works well and I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.
