First time buying an Asus MoBo and I'm not disappointed

Awesome quality and super easy to build with. Took my ram all the way up to 3600MHz with my Ryzen 5 with DOCP enabled in the bios. Bios came up to date out of the box but it is super easy to update when it comes time. Only thing that I’m a little disappointed about is that my mouse doesn’t get recognized in the click bios and for some reason the RAM didn’t want to go past 3000MHz in the 1 and 3 ram slots. Moved to 2 and 4 re-did the DOCP profile in the BIOS and now I’m sitting happy at 3600MHz. It’s very future proof as well, which I love.

Great board for Ryzen 5800X

this board is super stable and runs great!
However, if your planning on using a Ryzen 5000 series chip you'll have to upgrade the bios first with an older Ryzen chip installed, I just happened to still have my old 1600 laying around waiting on this rebuild and it worked perfectly to get things running so I could do the bios flash.

Current setup is
Asus TUF Gaming B550M-Plus, duh
Ryzen 5800X
ARCTIC Liquid Freeze II 120 liquid cooler
OLOy 64GB RAM @ 3600 MHz
XFX Radeon RX 570 Graphics (yes it's a couple generations behind but it works for what I need, wanting to upgrade to a 6800 though when I can find one)
GameMax 600W PSU
upHere 120mm Blue LED fans
Thermaltake Versa H15 Micro ATX Mini Tower

I don't know if I got a defected motherboard, but my MB didn't detect the CPU (AMD 3600). Got a red light on CPU Asus Q-LED. it was not a CPU issue because my old B320 board detected the CPU and booted.
I returned and decided to go with an ASROCK B550M Steel Legend with no problems.
Another issue was when I returned it, was that this MB is new and out of stock, I was not able to get a replacement. I don't know what star to give it because it would not be fair to give it fewer stars.

It is very capable with a good BIOS and was easy to set up. The Flashback feature works great for updating BIOS, or retrograding when the built-in utility won't allow it. Lots of USB ports on the back panel; although it lacks an internal Type C port my case doesn't have one either so no loss. It has a good and very robust VRM that should easily handle a high core-count CPU even for overclocking. But the experience might be unpleasant as the board lacks a temperature readout on the CPU VRM. That's a major omission as the DIGI+ VRM controller definitely has it available but Asus simply chose not to expose it for monitoring. Another annoying omission is lack sensor readout of voltage applied to DDR4 DIMM's, so no way to verify they're getting correct voltage. These are no-cost-savings choices on their part that only creates customer disenchantment and makes it easy to consider the competition for the next purchase.

A great set of features at a reasonable price for a Ryzen 5 3600 build

I used this in a new Ryzen 5 3600 build and it's working great. Currently there aren't a lot of microATX options available, but this one has everything critical to my build. One item lacking is a built-in wifi adapter, but that's not a deal-breaker here. The board has a nice RGB setup available on-board which is nice. The BIOS is very easy to understand and update as needed.

One downside: the user manual is really sparse and the diagrams are not the best. If you're a newbie doing a build, you might have some questions that you'll need to look up answers online. Make your manuals more clear to help newcomers!
