I been using pipe cutters since I was a kid, son of a plumber and when I got older became a plumber also lol. This tool is very well made it seems more fluid maybe due to the emphasis on bearings. I will be using this instead of my reed and ridgid cutters.

I use this cutter for EMT conduit and for mountain bike fork steerers.

In the past I had used a hacksaw with a fresh blade or a Husky/Rigid pipe cutter from a big box store and that pipe cutter replaced one from Ace Hardware.

I watched a Hambini YouTube video where he mentioned using this cutter for carbon handlebars, fork steerers, etc and recommended it.

I can definitely say that none of the other cutters I have used is remotely in the same league as this one.

Nice easy clean cuts with less effort and the design practically eliminates flaring on the end of the cut which is a pain with mountain bike forks as you have to file down the edges so the steerer will slide through your stem.

You can't go wrong with Knippex in my experience and if you have the coin this is definitely a really nice addition to the toolbox.

Absolutely blows away my old Greenlee cutter. Half as many turns and a cleaner cut. Built in deburring tool is convenient, works well, and can’t easily be lost. Wish I had bought this earlier.

Cuts steel cleanly like a precision laser

I cut a lot of 1/2" and 3/4" EMT conduit and normally use one of my cordless cut-off saws, but there's a number of times when I just need to carry a compact hand tool for the job. This Knipex pipe cutter is incredible - I can easily lock the position of the blade to my cut line with one hand, and with a couple turns, I have a very clean cut through 1/8" wall thick steel EMT piping. This is not a clunky tool, yet it has heft to it and ease of use; clearly a lot of thought went into its design. I know... it's hard to get excited about a cutting tool, but when you need something for a specific task, this is one that gets it done with great precision and ease.

This is not just a tool for plumbers. I work at bicycle repair shop. I’ll put new parts on bikes like handlebars, forks and seatposts. Many times they need to be cut. I had an idea. What if there was a pipe cutter that will cut aluminum. I looked at many pipe cutters and none specified that it could cut aluminum. I found a pipe cutter that cut stainless. Ok! I know aluminum is softer than stainless. So I researched stainless steel cutters and found another brand that did. I did comparisons with that one and the knipex. The 2 were very similar including the price. But one thing that stood out was the better handle on the knipex. So I pulled the trigger on this one. Game changer! It cut aluminum so smooth and fast! I won’t be using hack saws anymore.
