----- My RTX Voice And Krisp Experience -----
I have used RTX Voice in the past and now currently using Krisp on three of our personal desktop computers, the maxed license.
RTX Voice/Nvidia Broadcast takes too much of a performance hit (10% ish) to the GPU (we have the RTX 3080) when gaming. So we took the bite and got Krisp for $40 per year. Krisp uses your CPU as its resource. As 4k gamers, we have no regard whatsoever because all resources are coming from the GPU when 4k gaming. So Krisp was perfect for our needs. Both the Krisp and the RTX Voice software perform the same in terms of noise canceling. Just do not go overboard with them, like putting a vacuum next to you.
----- Asus Ai Noise-Canceling -----
The Asus noise-canceling device. Works the same as Krisp and the RTX Voice software both in the Macbook Pro 2018, Gigabyte G5, and an HP Elitebook (work laptop).
*Pro
- No software needed., but there's software if you still want to configure it. Only for Windows 10.
- Plug and play. Perfect for a work laptop where you do not have admin rights to install Krisp or RTX Voice.
- No resource hog. Doesn't consume CPU or/and GPU. Perfect for the Macbook Pro and the Gigabyte G5.
- Very cheap. (Got mine for $30, two in Amazon and another in the Philippines for $15 from Shopee.)
*Con
- Unfortunately can only Noise Cancel what's plug into the device compared to Krisp and RTX Voice which allows you to select which input you want to noise cancel.
- 3.5mm input devices only.
- The software, if you want to configure the device, is only for Windows 10. No Mac option, but to be honest. You do not need to configure it. It's perfect out of the box.
I see a lot of reviewers complaining about "high peaks", and "robotic voices". These issues are also common issues with RTX Voice and Krisp.
To remove this...YOU NEED TO REMOVE OR TURN OFF YOUR SOFTWARE NOISE CANCELLATION!
-Zoom. Turn on Original Sound.
-Teams. Turn off Noise Cancellation.
-MacBook Pros. Go to your Settings > Sound and toggle off the Ambient Noise Removal option box.
-Discord. Turn off Krisp AND Noise Cancellation.
For other software and devices. Please do your research.
Also very important with AI. The AI computes proximity. So it's important you use a boom mic that's fixed and closed to your mouth. Rather than a cheap 3.5mm mic that's far from you. If so, it won't remove the background noise. This goes with RTX Voice and Krisp. To maximize the noise cancellation is the input device is close as possible to your mouth.
I currently use the device on my M40x with a Boom Pro mic on my work laptop and my Gigabyte G5.
My Mrs use the device as well on her SHP9500 with a Boom Pro mic on her Macbook Pro.
We have no issues and it's great for our needs for zoom and teams meeting for work and streaming.
