Reading the previous reviews on this device, it's obvious to me they were either written by the manufacturer or perhaps their friends. The broken english, saying they're recording their baby or flowers, etc. Tip to the manufacturer/distributor: You'd do much better to include a more thorough description of the item and avoid the obvious shady reviews. Or maybe just get native english speakers to write the shady reviews :P
However, the price on this guy was way better than some other brands for the same functionality so I gave it a shot and have been pleasantly surprised.
It has a white LED that's easy to turn on and off, easy to turn on/off the IR(also supports automatic). It has audio and vibration notification for starting recording, vibrate for stopping recording.
Lets you choose encoding type, resolution for photo and video, volume control for sound effects.
It also lets you turn off the LEDs so you avoid broadcasting that you're wearing a body camera if that's important to you. In my case I leave them on because I would prefer people know they are being recorded.
It comes with a little docking station, to use it you have to remove the clip but it's not a big deal. It also has a mini USB port on the side if you don't want to use the dock.
Videos are timedate stamped. Has an option to set an ID which I presume would overlay on the video but I didn't try it.
The 30s pre-record function works in my testing. Mic works well. Happy with it so far!
I'll be using this when walking my pets outside as I've had some bad encounters with off-leash dogs and have had to start carrying dog OC spray. If I run into any issues with it over the next months of using it I will update this review.
