I bought one of these coats from a local store and love it. I wear a size 42R coat and found that a small fit me fine. . . more of tailored look than the baggy skateboarder style. I ordered another from Amazon but had to return it because of the color. The "Red Rocks" photo on the site suggests a rust or burgundy color. The actual color is much more a "dusty rose" (my wife's description). Having lived near Sedona, Arizona, it really is closer to the color of sandstone red rocks. Check the Columbia.com website before ordering, it shows the correct color. Thanks, Amazon, for the effortless return process.
p.s. This is a really warm and comfy jacket. Great for wearing around the house or layering under a leather coat on cold days.
Ordered this fleece to replace my 10 year old Northface fleece. It's a bit thinner and lighter than my older fleece, but feels like it kept me just as warm. I wish it had armpit zippers, but for the price, it was not expected. The sleeves are a bit tight, but I don't like baggy shirts and coats. I am 5'10" and 175 pounds. I ordered the medium and it fit well. My one issue is the stitching. Along the bottom, the stitching completely came undone exposing the rip cord that tightens around your waist on our first hike with it. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the stitching. Luckily I have an amazing wife who can sow anything, so this will be fixed before our next adventure.
I bought this for my dad's birthday and he loves it. At first he wasn't sure about the color but at 71 years old he is use to the basic colors. He really likes the color now, it looks like the picture, metal with burnt orange accents on the zipper. It fit him true to size at a large and not tight at all. He says the jacket is made very well, keeps him warm and washes up nicely. Perfect for fall and even some winter days. He recommends hanging it or laying it flat to dry to avoid the shoulder bumps you get from hangers rather than using the dryer. Columbia is a great brand and this is just another good example of quality.
