I have exchanged this mouse three times within the past week. Each mouse had the same issue and I was able to replicate it within minutes. During tight gameplay this type of error is extremely frustrating, and caused losses on dozens of occasions.
This issue exists due to a lack of poor quality control. I love ASUS Products. I had the original Spatha and purchased 4 of them, replacing one each time one broke until a software update bricked my mouse.
Stay clear of this mouse until the issue is fixed.
Editted December 12th:
Switching my review from 1 star to 5. After a length customer support process with ASUS, I was able to get them to both recognize and replicate the design flaw. It took a couple of months but they called me and let me know would be fixed in the next software update. I plugged the mouse in yesterday, ran the firmware updates, and my issue has been patched out, making this mouse once again on the best MMO Mice out there especially for big hands.
I have changed my review from a 1 star to a 5.
The most concerning is that the right mouse button often gets stuck in the clicked position; you have to pry it up to reset it and have it be usable again. This is a definite killer in FPS games.
Less concerning, but still annoying given the very hefty price tag of the mouse is that the left mouse button often squeaks when clicking it. Not the end of the world, but for $150, you would think quality materials had been used.
Additionally, the side buttons are a slicker material that just seem to foster sweat production and slippage; I find myself often having to wipe my hands on my pants/shirt simply because my thumb is sweating. If these were a more matte material, I think it prevent this issue
Also, when the mouse has 20% or less battery left, it constantly flashes red LEDs. Again, not a huge complaint, but it is literally using more battery by flashing LEDs once a second to tell you it's low battery.
And finally, it just overall does not feel super solid. The clicks feel hollow and unsatisfying, and the build quality just does not feel befitting of the price tag. However, since it is the only mouse of it's size and weight, and my hand does not feel cramped, it will continue to be used until the next large piece of junk drops.
Put in a support case with them and did not hear back from them at all unlike other vendors who will send you emails with status of your request.
Also if you move it anther machine you need to have the software and macros/keybindings imported onto the new machine for the mapping & macros to work. If you move it to another computer it will not work. Do not know what they are using the memories for then.
Was having a big problem with the wireless on this device causing my wireless doorbell to reset, hard to go to direct wired, it does not play well with 802.11n/ac networks . Never saw that problem with my other wireless mice.
Also have a problem where in the middle of working the mouse will stop recognizing the side button inputs, have to remove the power cable from the mouse and plug it back in for the side buttons to work again.
