Decent bag let down by cheap zippers

I bought this looking for a general purpose daypack and for occasional overnight trips. The capacity is advertised as 30L and it feels pretty close to that. Osprey avoided lots of stupid extraneous pockets that eat into interior cargo space, fortunately. This also gives it a cleaner aesthetic.

The lay-flat design of the laptop pocket (TSA compliant) is a nice touch that doesn't really interfere with the rest of the functionality. The laptop sleeve itself is smaller than I expected. It barely fits my 15" Lenovo and doesn't provide a ton of protection on the top -- the corners of the laptop are very close to the zippers. Probably fine, but if you expect some tougher conditions, you may want to put the laptop inside another sleeve.

The two main pockets are reasonably large and go all the way to the bottom -- no weird dividers or interior pockets. If you just need a bag to jam lots of stuff into and aren't as worried about having five hundred organization features built in, this would fit the bill. I was able to get my laptop, a Dopp kit and 3 days worth of clothes in with room to spare for miscellaneous stuff like chargers and pens. The stowable compression straps don't seem necessary unless you have a small space you need to fit the bag into.

Unfortunately, the Nebula has one huge flaw: cheap zippers. The large pulls are appreciated, but the zippers simply do not move smoothly and feel very gritty. This is particularly annoying if you're trying to open it with one hand or just slide the zipper down a bit to reach inside and grab something. At this price, even the Ogio, Swiss Gear, Oakley, etc. bags all have better zippers (most have YKK). I'm absolutely baffled at the selection of these zippers. I would have gladly paid a few bucks more for a nice smooth zipper.

The bag ended up getting returned because the zippers compromise its usability. Shame, because it's a solid bag otherwise.

I bought this updated nebula to replace the orginal i bought 5 years ago. I am very disappointed in this new back pack. They removed the latch for the front pouch and removed alot of pockets and zipper pouch inside the first zipper compartment. You lose alot of organization with this update.. Will be returning mine to buy the original.. Beside that the back pack is great.. Good build quailty and very comfortable

This backpack has lots of space for everything you need to carry. Unfortunately, the straps sit too close to your neck and rub against it. The stitching is starting to come undone as well...its only been used once!

This is such an amazing backpack that it took my 5 minuets just to think of something that could be improved upon. The waist strap, when not being used, just kind of dangles there. I have to stick them in the outside pockets. It's not that bad, but when I have my 40 ounce Hydroflask in there and can get really tight. Other than that one thing I love this backpack! I will defiantly replace it if something ever happens to this one.

I purchased this backpack prior to a 10-day trip to Italy with my family. Since we had multiple layovers, including some international layovers, and planned to take trains between several cities, I wanted to use my smaller carry-on suitcase to make it easier to store on airplanes and trains and roll between train stations and hotels. With a 10-day trip, I really wanted a backpack that I could use to supplement my limited packing capabilities in addition to safely transporting my work laptop, ipad, and various personal items like cords, chargers, etc. So my criteria was- laptop sleeve, comfortable straps, water resistant or waterproof, different compartments/pockets for a variety of items, big enough to fit some packing cubes, yet small enough that I wouldn't feel weighed down when on the move, and stylish (my last laptop backpack was a little boring - all black, kind of standard work-issued feel). I love bold colors and bright accents and wanted a backpack that felt more "me."

I also wanted something reliable and durable from a teoutae brand. I'm at the point in life where I'd rather spend 2-3 times more on an item I really love and will last me, rather than something less expensive that I'll have to replace over and over again, which is a pattern than I've experienced over the years that felt wasteful and short sighted, but sometimes necessary.

I limited my searching to several brands based on expert and user reviews and somewhere along the line in my searching I came across this backpack. Visually it was somehow exactly what I was looking for- the two bold shades of teal blue with the bright orange accent straps- enough to add some personality to it, but subtle enough to not go overboard. Honestly after seeing it, I really wanted it to work for my needs. I dove into video reviews to get a feel for the size and features.

It really turned out to be close to perfect for my needs. I could unpack at hotels and take out things I didn't need for exploring cities, and use the straps to condense the overall size a bit. Then repack for travel days- laptop, ipad, small electronics accessory travel bag, medium packing cube, two small packing cubes, journal, pen/pencil pouch, and headphones case. 20 oz water bottle fits securely in the side pouch. Neck pillow clipped around the top hand strap. Solid.

Comfortable padded straps, vented back, enough organization options to help you keep things in place but enough flexibility that you can use your own organizers to do what makes sense for you. Flaps of material that fold over zippers to ensure contents stay dry in rain or snow. I'm pretty sure this backpack will serve me well for years to come and will be flexible enough for whatever type of travel I do.

Only very small thing I experienced that might be a negative is all of the zippered areas have two zippers except for one. The two zippers give you flexibility in opening and closing, and I actually found myself missing the second zipper a few times on the one pouch that didn't have it. Seemed like a weird omission. But obviously not at all a deal breaker.
