I bought two of these, one to try, one to store for emergencies.
These are emergency ration bars, they're not meant for fun, or very enjoyable situations. They're meant to provide energy, and be calorie-dense, to keep you *alive* in a disaster.
They're very dry, but, manageable if you're not terribly picky. And, they're cheaper than most others, and in my opinion, better packed, and will take up less space. If you're careful, you can break off small pieces to pop in your mouth without getting crumbs everywhere.
They come in a vacuum sealed pack, individually wrapped. They will last up to 25~ years, if the entire sealed thing remains unopened.
Definitely have some water on hand with these. They'll be hard to eat, if you have nothing to drink, and help keep your mouth wet lol. But the extreme dryness is a GOOD THING - it means they're far more resistant to degradation because they have no moisture in them - so it's very unlikely for them to rot or mold.
An edible, economical, good emergency-pack choice. Made in Germany, the box says too, which I found kinda cool.
**Edit: And oddly, I actually found them somewhat enjoyable, having some over a couple days. (To not waste what I purchased) I had them as morning snacks to get me up and going, for the day, maybe give me extra energy to make more actual food lol.
They're not bad, really, kinda bland at first but if you chew slow and don't rush yourself to choke it down, you'll produce enough saliva naturally to actually make it decent. That and going slower is actually better for your digestion.
So yeah, lol, weirdly enough I started to like it, and was a little disappointed that I didn't have more to snack on, haha. And I had no issues, no stomach discomfort etc, after either. I think they're a great, decent, budget-friendly choice. And to some other reviewers here - yeah, duh, they have a lot of sugar overall. What do you think the point of these are? These aren't expensive fancy amazing healthy meals you prepped from stuff you bought at WholeFoods. They're *SURVIVAL ration bars. Meant to keep you *ALIVE long enough to get yourself home, or, to whatever is safe, in an emergency. Jeez, lol. You're not meant to eat them all the time.
Some people really don't know what *survival ration* means lol.
