It's a Japanese version, you cannot turn off the camera sound

The sole reason we decided to order Pixel 5a from Amazon - is that we wanted to avoid buying Japanese version (my wife doesn't like camera sound). "International version" sounded like what we needed, but in the end it turned out to be a version with Japanese restrictions. If we knew about it we would never bought it, since we had much cheaper options for the Japanese version (and with much faster delivery).

Other than turning off the camera sound - phone is fine. But we still frustrated by the fact that we spent extra money (and time) on this item.

BUY THIS PHONE FROM GOOGLE, NOT FROM AMAZON! This is not the US model of the 5a 5G. It does not get 5G signal anywhere for as long as I've had it. This is apparently the Japanese model of the phone. I've used this phone with 4 different SIM cards across 3 different carriers in the US and I have never gotten 5G on here. I'm in a pretty big 5G area and I have never gotten 5G at all on this device. Only 4G LTE. False advertisement! Sure, the 5G may work on this particular version of the phone IN JAPAN, but the 5G DOES NOT WORK IN THE US. DON'T BUY FROM THIS SELLER, buy the phone directly from Google!

After 3 years with the LG flagship LG G6+, that cost me a lot of money and was stuck on the Android 8 version (because of US Cellular), I decided to try a high mid-range phone. After reading some reviews, I decided to abandon LG and go to Google Pixel 5A.

And what I can tell you is that I am more than happy with this phone.
1st of all the fingerprint reader works way better than the LG G6+ ( this one stopped working after a few days).
Regarding autonomy, it's been a while since I found myself in a situation where I no longer had to worry about recharging my phone for a whole day.

And finally, for the price, the performance and general experience far exceed that of the LG G6.

Verdict, no need to buy a flagship to have a very good phone

The phone is nice, but it is not for the US region. Therefore, some features are not available, for example, you cannot turn off the shutter sound on the camera (seriously, look it up - some countries have laws that cameras must make sounds when a photo is taken). The seller should have made this clear in the product information. This phone will work in the US, but not all features will be available.
