I upgraded from a Galaxy S8 and was expecting more of a difference. It's fine. I'm glad they ditched the Bixby button. My one real complaint is the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. I didn't even think to look for one in the specs before I bought it. Am I the only one using wired headphones anymore?

I was upgrading from the Galaxy S10 which i have had for years and I think is one of the best phones out there. But it was starting to show it's are.
Starting the s22+ i noticed an immediate body in speed. The display is brighter, the screen is bigger, and the camera is great.
I get over a day and a half on a charge which is great.
Only down side is there is no memory card, hence the 1 star deduction.
Otherwise, it's a perfect phone

Beware! You w<on't get emergency alerts on S22,S22+or S22+ ultra.

Have been unable to get any emergency or amber alerts on my Samsung S22+ phone since I bought it new from Amazon about 5 months ago. The same thing is true for 3 other family members who bought the S22 and two S22+ultra. Samsung is unable or unwilling to fix this problem. First they blamed it on my carrier, Verizon, who changed out the sim card and worked on it twice and said it was a manufacturer problem.It's not your phone service provider., people. Don't let them tell you that. Some of us have Verizon and some AT&T and we live in different parts of the state. Samsung worked on it remotely 4 times. I think it was because they thought I was too stupid to go in to my settings and make sure the notifications were turned on. Then they made me factory reset it. That got old after half a dozen times. Then they sent me to two separate "Samsung Repair " centers. One out of town. Guess what Samsung , the repair centers only fix problems like broken screens not software design problems. Finally, I mailed my phone to Texas( I live in Washington state) to let them "work" on it and they said fixed it. Still no alerts. Which I didn't know until my husband's phone got alerts again and I didn't. I told them I wanted to try a new phone and they said no. They only repair but don't replace. I refused to send it back again. So Be aware that if you live in a place that has fires and you need the "go now" messages, the S22 series may not be for you. If any one actually gets alerts on their S22 phones I'd love to hear about it.

I upgraded to this phone and I am absolutely loving it. It works great. No complaints on it functionality for daily use.
I really like that it is smaller (or feels smaller) than my previous note 8. I wanted something that could fit well in my pockets and it does.
The camera is not as good as I was hoping. I am really not a fan of how pictures turn out on this and miss the pictures on my old phone. This is one of my biggest complaints. It blurs when I take any pictures of words in a book. It has focusing issues. I would have gone with another phone had I known.
The other complaint is the battery isn't that good. Midway through my workday (8:30am-4:30pm) I am at about 30% so I have to put it on the charger at work at least once to make it through the whole day. By the time I go to bed it is back at 30-40%.

Good phone

Over the past ten years or so I started out with an iPhone and then four Android phones . . the last two being Pixels. I decided to try Samsung because I was concerned about reports of newer Pixels having too many 'bugs' and these flagship Samsung models aren't being critiqued that way.

I has taken me some adjustment to learn some new operational techniques that are different from the Pixels. I accomplished this by watching a series of YouTube videos as my guide.

So, now after about two weeks with this s22 plus I'm quite pleased with everything except the fingerprint scanner. I much prefer the way Pixels used to place the fingerprint sensor on the back and it was always totally responsive. Although reviewers say the Samsung phones have excellent fingerprint scanners, for me it hasn't been great. Typically I have to mess with moving my thumb around a bit more than I think should be necessary . . but I'm coming to realize that maybe I'm not pressing down hard enough. In any case, this has been my only complaint as compared with the Pixels

On the positive side I really like that you can configure this s22 plus so much and it has some 'tricks' that I haven't seen before. For example, you can start a 'selfie' by aiming an open palm at the phone and it'll start a quick 3 second countdown before taking the shot.

The quality of the screen is excellent and I'm pleased with the sound for music and phone calls.

Speaking of phone calls, I'm definitely getting better cellular connectivity than with prior phones and the 5G speeds are ridiculously fast . . although I'm choosing to not even use the 5G because (according to the YouTube reviews) it uses too much battery in constantly searching for open 5G networks and they aren't very available yet.

Anyway, bottom line . . it's a really nice phone!
