This isn't super bright by any means. It definitely does have that candle feel, so it's nice for like if the power goes out and you need to just light up a small area at a time, or I let my kids use it for reading at night if they're not ready for bed.
It turns on when you twist it, and it twists really easily, so be careful that you don't accidentally have it turned to the like least-on setting and drain the battery!
OVerall it's a cute light and I enjoy it

I call it interesting and not just because it breathes. When you look at it you don't see a bulb, you see this little metal stick with holes. I guess that's what is supposed to look like a candle. To me it looks more like part that should be inside some sort of machine.
The saving grace to this little light is the optional setting of simply a light that can be dimmed by turning the clear top case. That's actually cool. And it's very pretty at night.
It runs quite awhile before it needs to be plugged in and recharged. When not in use there's an on/off switch on the bottom. And the bottom has a smooth rubber base so it won't scratch your furniture.
The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was simply because I don't like the "breathing" setting and also because though it does come with a USB cord, it has no plug. You have to supply your own. I suppose in today's world USB plugs are getting more common so most buyers of this light would have one. However that means unless you have an extra USB plug you'll be taking one off of something else all the time so you can charge this light. That could get more than a little annoying at times.
This would make a unique gift for someone who likes different types of lighting like I do. It's boxed nicely and the clear top is flawless. However is it worth $50? I think lowering the price a bit would make it more attractive to buyers looking for a little something different, gift wise.

The Downsides
While the lamp goes into a fast breathing state for 20secs when it is on low battery, there is no battery level indicator. I do not keep this plugged in so a battery level indicator above the USB-C charging port in the back would have been great. Speaking of charging port, this lamp only comes with a USB-C charging cable, it does not include the actual power brick to plug into a wall. Also, be mindful that since this lamp turns to change the adjustments and weighing less than a pound, you sometimes need to push down and turn, otherwise the whole unit turns as you’re trying to adjust.
