This is a really nice little lamp. It's very heavy for its size and isn't exactly the brightest, but it isn't meant to be. It's an accent lamp that you'd sit in the corner of a room and use just to change things up a bit and get a different lighting perspective. I like it for that and I will use it as an outdoor lamp to carry to the outhouse at the cabin. It's just a cool lamp. Love that it is rechargeable. Again, not the brightest, but enough to see around you when walking outdoors or inside when a flashlight isn't handy.
A few suggestions though:
I do wish the handle, which is a tiny metal loop above the on/off switch on top of the lamp, was bigger. I could barely fit one finger through it to carry the lamp by it. I found that when I carried it, the lamp swung back and forth and the back of my finger kept hitting the off switch. Second, the instructions suck. Actually, they don't tell you anything at all. Just not what to do. Nothing about charging, how to turn on/off or how to dim or brighten the light.
While I'm at it, a third thing would be the touchy on/off switch. It isn't a press on/off, but a touch sensor on/off.
Finally, at $39, I would not buy this lamp. It's way overpriced considering the strength of the light. If you are looking for an ambient white light, it's really cool. Just don't expect it to overwhelm you.
Overall, minor gripes. A solid 4 star lamp. It would easily be a 5 star if it were reasonably priced at around $19.

The lamp doesn't come with much in the way of instructions but I found it intuitive to assemble (screw the top to the base, that's it) and use. Initial charge time is quite long, more than five hours long, so hopefully that translates to long battery life. Keeping the light plugged into an outlet isn't really practical as the charging port is located under the shade of the lamp, not at the base, so a cord would be very visible.
The LED color is a soft white and can be dimmed by long pressing the on/off sensor on the top of the shade. At its highest setting I'd say that the light is still basically and accent light unless you are sitting or working very close to it. I like that I can take this lamp out to the deck for summer entertaining and, assuming it's charged, can be useful during power outages.
